Veronica Vivas

birdSEED Advisory Board

Being a member of a caring and conscientious company makes the hard work worthwhile. After earning my degree in biology I never imagined I would find my passion in property management! My interests led me to research in Kenya and an AmeriCorps assignment in Alexandria, VA before I settled down in management at one the nation’s largest retail chains before I joined the Nest in 2014. As a service based company, our greatest resource is our talent.

As the Chief People Officer, my core focus is ensuring we have the most sophisticated, client forward staff in the industry to deliver exceptional services in this 24/7 field. It’s also my role to ensure our talent is well taken care of. Together with our People Ops team, we tend to our staff with best in class benefits, an inclusive welcoming and authentically diverse culture and compensation models that underscore how much we value each and everyone that calls Flock their work home.

I’m a Virginia native and no stranger to the District. I know what makes this a great place to live and work but I also recognize that we need to work diligently to help foster an equitable and just environment. I’m proud to co-chair our Flock initiative birdSEED. With this philanthropic work, we’re able to advance housing justice and be a LOUD voice for change. It’s an honor to be a part of a workplace that puts people and place over profit.
